Living Waters is a church in South County that is specifically designed to connect with the “spiritual but not religious.”
So what does that phrase “spiritual but not religious” actually mean? We’re learning that it means different things for different people.
For some, it means that believe deeply in God and have a rich spiritual life but for a whole variety of reasons they have left the church as the place where they practice their belief and spiritual life. Regardless of why they left, they left because they felt that the church was a hindrance to their spirituality.
Others have deep spiritual experiences, but have never been part of a church in the first place.
Still others have lots of spiritual questions but are worried that their questions will either be dismissed or judged if they went to a church to ask them.
As Living Waters, we connect with the spiritual but not religious so everybody can have a safe, loving and fun place where they more fully develop their spiritual selves, can explore the meaning of their lives, and ask questions and get honest conversation.
Living Waters is jointly sponsored by the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America and the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.). But you don’t have to be a Lutheran or a Presbyterian to be part of Living Waters, just a desire to discover how God is at work on your life.
